Educational enrichment supplies teachers and students with services, programs, and materials that go above and beyond what is available in the regular classroom. Your PTO Educational Enrichment coordinator is Jennifer Parker.

Some of the areas that the PTO helps to fund through Educational Enrichment are: field trips, start-up supplies for the teachers, program supplies for outclasses, items to be used to improve core subject instruction, staff development, and funds to aid special programs like reading recovery and guided reading.
The other main activities of Educational Enrichment involve parent volunteers. If you have some free time and would like to donate it to the school, we would love to have you.
Mentoring is one area that you can help out in and we are about to get underway. Reading mentors help students work on their reading and writing skills for approximately half an hour once per week. Math mentors help students struggling with basic math skills twice a week for 20-30 minutes. Both of these experiences can be very rewarding for parents and the students, but do require a yearlong commitment.
We will be having a Reading/Writing Night on November 20th and a Science Night (probably in February). These are fun evening events for the students and their families. We are looking for more people to help out with these programs and a lead person for each.
We would love to have some more “green thumbs” to help in the butterfly garden. Other areas where you can volunteer are with School Pride, In School Field Trips, Field Day, Equations League and Fifth Grade Graduation. School Pride Day, In School Field Trips, Equations League and Fifth Grade Graduation still need a person or persons to head up the committees.
Thanks to all of you who have volunteered your time. Together we can enrich the school and the students.
